Jacob Slichter helps leaders and groups to be more confident, creative, and effective. As a performance coach, he helps individuals and groups to communicate, collaborate, and engage audiences more effectively. As a leadership coach, he has guided and supported individuals who are navigating career changes, health challenges, and high-stakes creative projects. As a consultant, he has advised business leaders, startup companies, writers, and artists. Across all three domains a central theme in his work is identifying and leveraging hidden strengths.
Drummer for the Minneapolis band Semisonic, Jake has earned Platinum and Gold records in the US, UK, and Canada. He has performed around the world and appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and Howard Stern.
Author of the acclaimed book So You Wanna Be a Rock & Roll Star (Broadway Books, 2004), Jake has contributed to the New York Times and NPR’s Morning Edition, and been interviewed on CNN, ABC, and WNYC.
He has taught and lectured at numerous colleges and universities, including Princeton, Villanova, Smith College, Northeastern, Rutgers, and the UNC Wilmington, Indiana University, and DePaul.
He has a B.A from Harvard College and lives in New York City.
